"Sing to the Lord a new song" Psalm 96:1
On Saturday, Dec. 2nd, 2006, The Campbells gave their Christmas Concert to an audience of nearly 90 people. Leo Campbell was in rare form telling stories with droll seriousness then ending with a laughable punch line. A little tired at times, he sat through a lively rendition of "Go Tell," an infectious blues number that had Leo playing air guitar and bouncing around in his seat.
The kids especially liked hearing "What Are You Gonna Do with a Fruitcake." The blending of Christmas songs with Campbells favorites made for a delightful musical evening. They blessed us with a wonderful time, almost 1 1/2 hours worth of music.
Singers Alan Frink and Scott Brunt were in the audience and Leo didn't have to twist their arms to get them to join in a few toe-tapping gospel numbers.
Two members from last year dropped from the group but they added one new member, Jennifer Culbertson from Rhode Island, who plays a great keyboard. Other performers included Cindy Campbell-Frith and Naomi Campbell.
During the closing prayer, several people accepted the Lord. What more could you ask?
Refreshments and fellowship followed the concert.
