"It was he who gave some to be ... pastors and teachers ..." Eph. 4:11
On Nov. 20, 2005, Hillside held a special business meeting and voted unanimously to accept Pastor Jim Robertson of Hooksett as their new pastor. This event was the culmination of a process that began when Pastor Al Page announced a few months prior his decision to retire again!
Pastor Al introduced us to Pastor Jim, who had recently returned to NH from seminary and who was looking for God to answer his prayers about ministry. A Search Committee was formed, Pastor Jim preached a series of sermons, met with members informally, and answered questions at a formal Q&A meeting.
Pastor Al Page began his current term of service on Feb. 8, 2004. He firmly declared that he planned to continue at Hillside as a mentor to Pastor Jim, as part of the Property and Space Committee, and in any area of ministry where he can contribute to our mission to spread the gospel.
Pastor Hershel Strickland joined Hillside in January 2008. His ministry focus is conducting Sunday Morning Services at two nursing homes in Newport, NH and teaching a midweek Bible Study.
Hillside also elects Deacons to support the pastor and to serve the membership. Please pray for your Deacons because they are here to serve you.
